If you have a HealthShield policy, you may be able to claim back the cost of your treatments, including osteopathy, physiotherapy, acupunture and massage therapy, depending on your level of cover.

HealthShield offers an Allowance Plan with Levels 1 to 5, giving you the flexibility to claim for a variety of treatments based on the level of cover you choose.

• Option 1: Combined Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, and Osteopathy Allowance
  This option covers treatments with our team of osteopaths, physiotherapists, and acupuncturists. Depending on your chosen level, you can benefit from treatments such as physiotherapy for injury rehabilitation, acupuncture for pain management, or osteopathy for musculoskeletal concerns.

• Option 2: Health and Well-Being Allowance
  This option covers treatments focused on relaxation, recovery, and overall well-being, including sports massage, deep tissue massage, lymphatic drainage, and Swedish massage. Whether you're an athlete recovering from intense physical activity or looking to unwind and de-stress, this option is designed to support your health and wellness needs.

Our osteopaths are registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOSC) and the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS), our physiotherapists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP), and our massage therapists hold ITEC or BTEC recognised qualifications.

Midtown Wellness osteopathy, acupunture, massage, and physiotherapy treatment options meet HealthShield claim requirements. Please note that HealthShield claims are not processed directly by us; payments must be made in advance. After your appointment, we will provide a detailed invoice that includes all necessary information for your claim.

HealthShield Receipt Requirements

According to HealthShield's website, the receipt must meet specific requirements for your claim to be processed. Here is what we provide to meet these standards:

• The type of practitioners that need to be approved include physiotherapists, chiropodists, chiropractors, osteopaths, acupuncturists, homeopaths, specialist consultants, fitness professionals, and alternative therapists. If the practitioner does not have one of the approved accreditations or qualifications, HealthShield will not process your claim.

• The receipt should be an original on official headed or stamped paper and must show the following:

  • Practitioner’s full name, accreditations or qualifications, and contact details

  • Patient’s full name and title (Mr, Mrs, Ms, or Miss)

  • Proof that payment has been made in full

  • The type of treatment given, such as Sports Massage, Chiropractic, Osteopathy, or Acupuncture

  • The date of treatment received. If the receipt is for more than one treatment, separate dates and amounts for each appointment must be shown. HealthShield will not process claims for treatments paid in advance but not yet received.

  • If the receipt is for more than one person, a breakdown of the details of treatments and costs for each person must be shown.

To claim for treatments like Osteopathy, Massage, Physiotherapy, or Acupuncture through HealthShield, Midtown Wellness receipts will include all of these required details.

• Choose the appropriate treatment type (Osteopathy, Massage, Physiotherapy or Acupuncture).

• Please leave a note with your home address during booking if you need a receipt for your HealthShield insurance claim. We’ll send it after your appointment.
